Purpose Of This Ministry

The purpose of this ministry is found in 2 Corinthians 5:18-21:

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

This ministry seeks to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. We are are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ therefore we declare this Gospel in the highways and biways. We preach about sin, righteousness, and the coming judgment to a lost and dying world. Since Jesus' mission was to "seek and save that which was lost", this too is our mission, being empowered by the Holy Spirit whom He has given to all those who believe.

10 Indictments Against the "church"

It's been a long while since I last posted anything. I have several postings I've been meaning to post but time has got the best of me.

I was recently given a sermon by Paul Washer called "10 Indictments". I do not know if an audio is available but if you click this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7wzfvYkCW0 you will be able to watch the sermon on YouTube. It is a 2 hour sermon BUT WELL WORTH IT!!

It is very powerful, convicting, and truthful (which is really all that matters). Many of us have the same "indictments" against the church as well. Confirmation is always nice.

Please find the time to listen to this, even if it takes you several days.

ARE YOU SAVED?

SAVED FROM WHAT?
Well, the "what" is not an "it", the "what" is a "who". That's right, the "what" is God. Are you saved from God? Are you saved from His wrath and anger that is upon every human soul?

WHY IS HIS WRATH AND ANGER ON EVER PERSON'S SOUL?
First off, you must realize that God is holy, righteous, and just. He is the creator of all things (which includes you) and He commands you to perfectly follow all His laws and commands. God is called the law-giver. He has established a moral law for all people to follow. He has written this law on their heart, this is called your conscience. When you refuse to yield to your conscience, you violate His moral law, thus making you guilt in His site. You broke His law, you are guilty.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THESE 'LAWS'?
God's law can be summed up in two statements: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and Love your neighbor as yourself". You might think that is pretty easy, but remember God's standard is perfection and in a moment we will see you have fallen way short of His standard.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN IF I BREAK GOD'S LAW?
Doing any of the following sins (even just once) breaks one of the two commandments from above...if not both! Drunkeness, Fornication, Lying, Stealing, Using the Lord's name in vain, Homosexuality, Lust, Adultery, Abortion, Murder, Hate, Sexaul Immorality, Filthy Speech, Loving Money, Disobeying Your Parents, Pride, Jealousy, basically loving pleasures more than you love God.

Odds are, you've done many of the above sins many times!

BUT GOD IS A GOD OF LOVE, RIGHT?
Yes He is and because of that He is full of wrath and anger towards those who break His law. Because God is holy, righteous, and just, He must hate that which is evil. Dear reader, you've become evil in God's sight. You've become sin and God hates sin, which means God hates you....Yes, the bible clearly says that God hates all those who practice sin...and that is all of us.

BUT WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GOD!
No where in the bible will you find that all people are "God's children". In fact, you find the opposite to be true. We are His creation, but that does not make us His children. Since we have violated His law, and become evil in His sight, we are now considered His enemy...He hates us, we hate Him.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, 'GOD HATES ME?'
It means you've sinned against a holy, righteous, and just God. You've become a twisted mess of sin. You've become a curse in His sight and therefore you deserve His wrath and punishment in hell. A God of love must punish law-breakers, otherwise He wouldn't be just, He wouldn't be righteous, and therefore He wouldn't love. A God of love will ALWAYS choose the right thing to do - and punishing you for violating His law is the right thing for Him to do.

YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO SCARE ME!
Trying to scare you? You are absolutely right! You should be terrified of how you've offended an infinite Holy God. He created you but you've rejected Him. How ignorant is it of you to think you can live "how ever I want to?" Do you really think you know better than God how you should live? Do you really think you are going to stand before God and tell Him "I did my best"? Do you really think you and the "big guy upstairs" have your "own" thing? Do you really think you will stand before your creator, who created all that is in the heavens and the earth, and tell Him where He can "go"? Dear reader, you know not what you say! You know not who you are going to give an account to. It is appointed unto mankind to die once and then face a Holy God's judgment. God sees all that you do. He hears all that you say. He knows all your secret thoughts. Not one thing has passed before God without Him taking account of it...not one!

Am I trying to scare you...you're dead right! You should be terrified to stand before God to face His judgment and His punishment of eternal torment in the flames of Hell.

BUT I THOUGHT THE BIBLE SAID GOD WAS A GOD OF LOVE?
The bible does tell us God is a God of love. It also says He is a God of mercy, compassion, faithfulness, and loving kindness towards all His creation. The fact that you are still alive today, breathing, is a testimony to God's faithfulness to you. Just imagine how loving God must be if He is able to love the objects of His wrath, anger and hate! Now that's LOVE!

How has God deomonstrated His love for you? In many ways, but the most important way is by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for your sins.

REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!
